We reviewed important changes in responsibilities for principals and superintendents on matters of hiring, firing, discipline and beyond.
Rhode Island’s new legislation is modeled after Massachusetts reform efforts over the past 20 years. It seeks to empower school principals and improve student achievement. These new laws impact all public schools, including public charter schools.
We covered the 2019 legislative changes including ethics complaints regarding teacher fitness, site-based threat assessment teams, fast-track principal certification, services for children with dyslexia, and more.
