Our education attorneys were proud and privileged to lead the 2022 Annual Legal Institute for Rhode Island at the Crown Plaza in October.
Designed for leaders in education, the annual program was held in-person this year, and sponsored by both the Rhode Island Superintendents Association and the Rhode Island Association of School Business Officials. It was attended by over 125 superintendents, assistant superintendents, business officials, special education directors and IT professionals from school districts across the State.
BRCSM attorneys Ben Scungio, Ron Cascione, Lori Miller and Sean Clough presented on several hot issues impacting schools and education including: a review of significant new laws and cases, applying 504 and ADA rules to employee cases, and practical steps when confronting a crisis. The presentations generated a lively question-and-response session. Thanks to all who made it a great day.
BRCSM provided resources to attendees such as representative cases, statutes, regulations, and presentation notes. Both the resources and presentations are available. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the materials, contact Tom DiPaola, Executive Director for RISSA at tdipaolarissa@gmail.com or Ben Scungio, Esq. at bscungio@brcsm.com.
