BRCSM’ s education attorneys were pleased to again lead the Legal Institute for Rhode Island education leaders.

The annual program was held virtually in webinar format and sponsored by the Rhode Island Superintendents Association and Rhode Island Association of School Business Officials. It was attended by over 125 superintendents, assistant superintendents, business officials, special education directors and IT professionals from school districts across the State.

BRCSM attorneys Ben Scungio, Ron Cascione, Jon Anderson, Stephanie Cote, Lori Miller and Sean Clough presented on an array of vital issues including: Title IX regulatory requirements, personnel issues (and solutions) raised during COVID 19,  impact bargaining, the ins and outs of the FFCRA, and statutory immunity for public employees. The presentation generated a lively question and response period.

BRCSM provided resources to attendees such as representative cases, statutes, regulations, and presentation notes. Each presentation was recorded; both the resources and presentations are available. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the materials,  contact Tom DiPaola, Executive Director for RISSA at tdipaolarissa@gmail.com or Ben Scungio, Esq. at bscungio@brcsm.com.
