We’re celebrating September 18th … the anniversary of our firm’s founding, 29 years ago.
That was when our five partners – Ed Brennan, Joe Recupero, Ron Cascione, Ben Scungio and Kevin McAllister – merged our separate practices into one. Looking back, we were excited about the chance to offer full-service capabilities to our clients with strong areas of expertise. It was a natural fit.
We envisioned a collaborative working relationship. We gelled quickly as a group and friends, trusting each other and working toward the common goal of providing great service to a diverse group of clients.
Over the years, we were fortunate to add a new partner from our Taunton office, Brian Hughes, to have Tom Hemmendinger bring his experience to our mix, and to include Lisa Kresge and Jon Anderson on our team, both from large, nationally recognized firms (Brown Rudnick and Locke Lord, respectively). We are also blessed with knowledgeable and aggressive associates who represent the future of our firm and a staff, second to none, many of whom have been with us for 20 or more years.
Today, our original five partners are still together, meeting regularly to ensure our continued commitment to the highest ethical standards of law firm practice and management. We’ve established ourselves as a leading law firm in a number of areas including education, commercial finance, real estate, and land use and development. We also continue to handle personal injury and all types of commercial litigation, estate planning, family, tax and antitrust law.
Along the way, we purchased our Broadway building and became a part of the fabric of the West End neighborhood. Most recently, our Taunton office moved into a new office space. It has been satisfying and fun to watch each other’s families and careers grow. And it has been fascinating to watch the practice of law evolve with time.
We are proud that our firm has come to be highly regarded in Rhode Island and Massachusetts — and even nationally. As we celebrate this milestone, we recognize a central truth: when you are a client-focused, ethics-driven organization, you can only succeed.
Accordingly, we are grateful for our clients and we treasure the long-term relationships we have built; we look forward to the opportunity to provide common sense solutions for our clients’ legal needs for years to come.
