Welcome to BRCSM’s Labor & Employment Law Practice
Our lawyers handle all aspects of labor and employment law, representing both employers and employees in the private sector as well as school districts and municipalities.
WORKPLACE DISPUTES AND COMPLIANCE
We frequently deal with a wide array of complex workplace matters such as discrimination, workers compensation, unemployment compensation, force reductions and early retirement programs, federal and state contract compliance, whistleblower laws, executive contracts, wage-hour matters, and labor standards issues.
LABOR RELATIONS EXPERIENCE
We represent management clients in connection with National Labor Relations Board and State Labor Relations Board proceedings such as representation elections and unfair labor practice charges, and collective bargaining.
Practice Highlights
Successfully represented a disabled plaintiff in a wrongful employment practice matter in Federal court against a major corporation.
Successfully defended a local manufacturer in a discrimination suit in New Bedford Superior Court where the client was accused of wrongful employment termination based on allegations of whistleblower protections, age and disability discrimination. After a five-day jury trial, the court ruled in favor of the manufacturer, avoiding damages. The case involved highly disputed facts and passionate and emotional testimony.
